How do these doorstep battery guys actually dispose of the old one?

I've been reading up on Mobile Car Battery Replacement because my Pajero's battery is on its last legs and I really can't be bothered with a workshop visit right now. What I'm curious about is the logistics side of it, like when the technician swaps the battery at your place, what happens to the old one? Do they take it away for recycling or do you end up stuck with a dead battery sitting in your parking spot? Also wondering if they accept card payments on the spot or if it's cash only, since I'd rather not run to an ATM in the middle of it all. If anyone has used one of these services in Dubai or Sharjah recently I'd love to hear how the whole thing actually works in practice.
