My Audi A6 is due for its gearbox oil and my biggest problem is time, not money. I work long hours in Musaffah and I cannot leave the car at a workshop for a whole day, because I need it to get to site and back. A colleague told me some places can finish the job while you wait, but another guy said a rushed job is a bad job. So I am not sure what to believe. I searched on my phone during lunch to see what a Fast Audi transmission oil change in Musaffah would even look like, and I still could not tell how long a proper one should take. The car has about eighty eight thousand kilometres. It drives fine, but I have never changed the oil, and the heat on these roads makes me nervous. What is a normal time for this job? Is one to two hours okay, or does that mean they skipped something like the filter or the warm up step? Also, should I book early in the morning so they are not in a hurry? And is it fair to ask them to show me the old oil and write the type and amount on the receipt? If you have done this while working a busy schedule, how did you manage it? I would love to hear what worked for you.
